 Good Day,

I have difficulty updating the existing ad in. I do not know where to click to update the app.

Your help section for viewing existing tickets is also not working.

Regards

Ian
Good afternoon Fanie,

Thank you for bringing these items to my attention.

I have addressed the issue of historical tickets not being visible, so you should now be able to see all previous tickets that are classified as public.

Please provide more information on your difficulty with updating the addin. When you say you "do not know where to click" are you referring to this website or within Excel?

Kind regards,
Ian Skinner

Good Day,

It is on the website. Below is a screenshot of what I see. I click on 1.1.0 and nothing happens. Where is the download button? If I go into excel it now says my add in expired.

Kindly advise.

Hi Fanie,

Click on the View files button at the bottom of that particular block.

Alternatively, use this link to take you directly to the download page: http://www.skinner.co.za/downloads/ians-excel-addin/ians-excel-addin-1-1-0. Please note though that this link is only valid for the current version of the addin and will no longer work when the version number changes.

Let me know how it goes.

Kind regards,
Ian Skinner

Hi Ian, Thank you, All have been sorted. From now going forward I will click on the “view files” and then on the file with installation files. A quick question, what is the one without installation files? Regards  FANIE FOURIE

Ian
Hi Fanie,

Thank you for the feedback. I am glad to hear you have come right.

The version with the installer is simpler to use. By downloading and then running the EXE file it puts the XLAM file in the correct folder for Excel automatically. It also makes uninstalling the addin easier as well for those users that no longer wish to use it.

The version without the installer on the other hand requires a little bit of tech know how. The full instructions for using this version are included on the download page, but basically it requires the user to download the XLAM file and then save it in the correct hidden folder by themself.

There is no difference between the two downloads once in Excel though. It is exactly the same addin file used in both download versions. The version without the installer was added mainly as a manual workaround for users that couldn't download the installer version. Some users reported that the EXE file was being blocked by their antivirus software or their firewall.

Kind regards,
Ian Skinner

Thank you. This make perfectly sense now. Regards  FANIE FOURIE
