Hi there,

Please provide additional information on this error, e.g. is this an Excel error message? What were you busy doing when this error message appeared?

Hi Dakalo,

Does the error message occur before or after the import process commences?

It seems as though the file you're trying to import or save to is already in use, either by Excel, or Windows.

Have you tried shutting down all instances of Excel, then reopening Excel and importing?

Yes I tried closing every application and still no luck. do you think maybe because I am using windows 10 and office 2016, that might be the reason? RegardsDakalo Mukwevho Quantity SurveyorBsc QS, CAQSCell: 062 294 5909Email:

That should not be an issue. There are many users, including myself, using that combination.

Try this to see if it works... Move the text file you are trying to import to the Desktop before trying to import it. Import it from the Desktop instead of your normal user folder.

Thank you so much Ian,It only needed me to export the winqs file to the desktop and not from the server....Amazing tool.Is this a freeware or will it expire? RegardsDakalo Mukwevho Quantity SurveyorBsc QS, CAQSCell: 062 294 5909Email:

That's great news, I'm glad you came right.

The software is free, although it does need to be updated each month. Please see this article for details.

Good day Ian,Thanks again for your amazing Tool.We have migrated to the New WINQS V11. I Have noticed that while exporting a price Bill, your tool doesn't pick up the %IT for Profit and attendance done by this new WinQS version. Please update if possible to cater for such. RegardsDakalo Mukwevho Quantity SurveyorBsc QS, CAQSCell: 062 294 5909Email:
